Hervé Renard has confirmed his decision to coach the Tunisia national team in the 2026 World Cup, after quick negotiations with the Tunisian Football Federation. Renard will meet with the Tunisian Football Federation officials before the match against Japan, which will take place on 21 June. Renard will receive a monthly salary of 30,000 euros, in addition to other performance-based bonuses, including a grant worth 100,000 euros if Tunisia finishes first in the group stage. Renard announced his agreement to coach the Tunisian team after hours of negotiations with the Tunisian Football Federation. Renard said: "There is no need to think..." in a brief statement to French channel "RMCS". Renard will participate in the World Cup for the third time in a row, but with different colors, after leading the Moroccan team in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, then the Saudi team which made a surprising move against Argentina in the 2022 World Cup. Renard left his position just two months before the current tournament.
